Transnational documentary project - call for Germany
Please welcome to redistribute! For a transnational documentary project we are looking for interview partners, locations, information, ideas, photo and video material. The content is about the violation of human rights in Europe and the decline in values within European society. Thematic banner Keywords: Crisis of multiculturalism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, economy and corruption, polarization of society, social rights, freedom of expression, repression of the state and police during peaceful demonstrations, curtailing rights of individual groups by law enforcement and judicial systems, inequality / disadvantage by the legislative practice Interviews and filming for the relevant part of Germany will take place in the period from 10/06/2014 to 10/26/2014; we are happy to visit you on site. The interviews we conduct either in German with a translator or in English. In order to use the limited time as effectively as possible, we want to make binding appointmentsas early as possible. Bitte gerne weiterverbreiten! Für ein transnationales Dokumentarfilmprojekt suchen wir InterviewpartnerInnen, Drehorte, Informationen, Ideen, Foto- und Videomaterial. Inhaltlich geht es um die Verletzung der Menschenrechte innerhalb Europas und den Werteverfall innerhalb der europäischen Gesellschaft. Thematische Stichworte hierzu: Krise des Multikulturalismus, Fremdenfeindlichkeit, Islamophobie, Wirtschaft und Korruption, Polarisierung der Gesellschaft, soziale Rechte, Meinungsfreiheit, Repression von Staat und Polizei bei friedlichen Kundgebungen, Beschneidung von Rechten einzelner Gruppen durch Strafverfolgungs- und Justizsysteme, Ungleichbehandlung/Nachteile durch die Gesetzgebungspraxis Interviews und Filmaufnahmen für den Deutschland betreffenden Teil finden in der Zeit vom 6.10.2014 bis zum 26.10.2014 statt; gerne besuchen wir euch vor Ort. Die Interviews führen wir wahlweise auf Deutsch mit Übersetzer oder auf Englisch durch. Um die begrenzte Zeit möglichst effektiv nutzen zu können, wollen wir möglichst frühzeitig verbindliche Terminabsprachen treffen. About the author:
Azerbaijani journalist and editor-in-chief of the independent Russian-language haqqin.az and Azeri-language virtual.az news portals. He was imprisoned for four years in Azerbaijan for his criticism of the Government and for the alleged comments on the Khojaly massacre in 2007. His sentence was condemned by Reporters Without Borders,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eynulla_Fatullayev - cite_note-3 International PEN, and the Committee to Protect Journalists, and Amnesty International named him a prisoner of conscience. Additional charges were brought against Fatullayev, while he was in prison for defamation. In his report about the possible U.S. military strike against Iran, Fatullayev included a list of potential “risk” targets within Azerbaijan, which brought an additional charge of encouraging terrorism. Upon conviction in 2007, he was sentenced to eight and a half years. The European Court of Human Rights has ordered Azerbaijan to release Mr. Fatullayev. Eynulla Fatullayev was granted a pardon on May 26th, 2011
Awards:
In 2009, Fatullayev was awarded an CPJ International Press Freedom Award for "defending press freedom in the face of attacks, threats or imprisonment." Almost one year after his release, UNESCO awarded Fatullayev with its 2012 UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize, which Fatullayev accepted on World Press Freedom Day in Tunis.
